Wait for body irks family
The toll in the Delhi high court blast rose to 12 persons as an injured succumbed at RML Hospital on Thursday. Relatives and friends of the deceased, Pramod Chourasia, 40, indulged in slogan shouting after his body was not handed over to them at the hospital.
“We are waiting here since morning and the hospital authorities now tell us to contact the police for the body. We have lost our close friend and we just want his body,” said Naim Khan, the deceased’s friend.
Pramod was father of four children aged between 15 to 7 years. He ran a shop of electrical goods named Balaji Electrics in Kiradi. Pramod had gone to the high court with his three friends to meet an undertrial friend. He and his two friends Subodh Jha and Ram Singh Chauhan suffered injuries. His friends are still critical.
“Four of us were waiting for our turn in the queue when the blast occurred. Pramod died at 7 in the morning and we received his body at 3 pm. The police and hospital authorities must understand what trauma we are suffering from,” said Vinod Thakur, friend of the deceased.
The family members and friends of the deceased also complained that the hospital authorities announced wrong name and address of the deceased, which created confusion.
