Ugandan woman molested in moving car

A 31-year-old Ugandan national was allegedly molested by four youth, including two hotel management students, in a moving car in Vasant Kunj (north) area of South Delhi.

A senior police official said the police has arrested all the four accused, identified as Prakhar, Gagandeep, Swapnil and Shikesh, all residents of Mayur Vihar, east Delhi.
The official added that the victim came to India in March this year for medical treatment and has been living in a rented accommodation in Chhatarpur since then.
“On Friday night, she visited Bristol Hotel in Gurgaon where she met the four accused who befriended her. At around 4 am on Saturday, she asked the accused for a lift till her house. They took her to Chhatarpur in their car. However, on reaching Chhatarpur they took a sudden turn and drove towards NH-8. The woman has alleged that they were trying to rape her and molested her. When she resisted their attempts they thrashed her. They dumped her near Mahipalpur but she managed to drag one of the accused out of the car and called the police,” said the police official.
A team was immediately sent to the spot and the accused was arrested, the official said. Later, the police conducted a raid and arrested the three accused who had fled after dumping the victim.
An FIR was registered in this respect at the Vasant Kunj (north) police station, the official said.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a man was held for allegedly trying to rape a six-year-old girl in Vasant Kunj (north).
The accused, identified as Mandeep, alias Kochi, was arrested from Mahipalpur area, the police said. The victim had gone to answer the nature’s call when the accused tried to rape her. The victim was accompanied by her ten-year-old sister who alerted her family members who rushed to the spot. The accused escaped but was later arrested.
In another incident, a 20-year-old girl was assaulted and allegedly raped at her house in Sarita Vihar, the police said on Saturday.
