Two arrested for bid to rape woman in car

Two men who kidnapped a sales executive and tried to rape her in a moving car were arrested in Ghaziabad, the police said on Tuesday. Annu Verma and Anil Nagar are residents of Shalimar Garden neighbourhood where the woman worked. They were held on Tuesday, the police said.

The incident occurred on Monday evening in Shalimar Garden at 6.30 pm when the woman was coming out of her office. The two dragged her into a car and molested her in the moving vehicle. The woman while resisting their rape attempt shouted for help, the police said.
After hearing her cries, other motorists chased the car. The two men, sensing trouble, dropped the woman from the moving car and fled. “The girl lodged a complaint, after which we arrested Annu Verma and Anil Nagar,” said Sahibabad police station official Devi Ram Gautam. — IANS
