Tunda bought explosives from Khari Baoli: Police
The Delhi police on Friday said that alleged LeT terrorist Abdul Karim Tunda revealed that he purchased explosive from a shop in Tilak Bazar, Khari Baoli, north Delhi.
Tunda told investigators that he purchased urea, nitric acid, potassium chloride, nitrobenzene and sugar from the shop. “We took Tunda to Tilak Bazar to identify the shop. He identified the shop but failed to recognise the shopkeeper,” said an official.
Tunda carried out blast in Malviya Nagar and fled to Pakistan. The official said that they would interrogate Mohammed Alauddin, an alleged LeT terrorist who was arrested in West Bengal on Wednesday. The official said that Tunda and Alauddin had been together for several years.
Meanwhile, the alleged Lashkar-e-Tayyaba (LeT) bomb expert Abdul Karim Tunda was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for special cardiac care on Friday.
70-year-old Tunda was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital on Thursday night after he complained of chest pain, the police said.
Tunda was shifted to AIIMS on Friday afternoon and admitted to the intensive cardiac care unit (ICCU), keeping in view the specialised care and security concerns.
A heavy contingent of armed police guards has been placed outside the ICCU where Tunda, who has been giving details about spread of terror group Lashkar-e-Tayyaba in India, is being treated.
Doctors attending on Tunda refused to divulge any details about his health. Tunda is in police remand till Saturday.
