Trader shot at, robbed of money
A 44-year-old man on Friday shot at point blank range by two unidentified motorcyclists who fled away with his bag containing Rs 8 lakhs in the Harsh Vihar area. The victim, Mukesh Jindal, was rushed to a near by hospital where he is stated to be in critical condition.
According to the investigating officers, Mukesh was waylaid by two unidentified motorcyclists while he was walking to his Harsh Vihar residence. Mukesh, who is a steel unit owner in the Wazirpur industrial area, earlier in the day collected Rs 8 lakhs from a few customers, added the police. “Initial probe has pointed out that the bikers might have followed him from the Wazirpur after noticing that he had cash in his bag,” added the police.
Mukesh was taken at gunpoint by the two motorcyclists, the police said, adding that the he was shot on his back after he showed resistance. Mukesh is still in a critical condition.
