Trader, 2 others killed in mishaps
Three persons died in past 24 hours in separate road accidents two of which were reported from Punjabi Bagh and one in Kanjhawala area of the capital.
The first mishap was reported near the Madipur Metro Station on Saturday night when an unidentified vehicle mowed down a person who was travelling on a scooter. The police was informed about the incident and the victim was rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Vasudev Ashwin, 46, owner of a cosmetics shop in Sadar Bazaar area.
“We identified the deceased from an identity card found in his belongings. The officials also found a bag with around `1.46 lakh in cash. All his belongings were handed over to his family members. A case has been registered against unidentified person. We are scrutinising the CCTV footage of the nearby areas to identify the vehicle,” said a senior police official.
in another incident reported from Punjabi Bagh, the police patrol staffers saw an injured person lying on a footpath at around 2.30 am on Sunday He was rushed to nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The deceased has not been identified yet, the police said.
The third incident was reported from Kanjhawala area of outer Delhi on Saturday night where an overspeeding tractor turned turtle leaving the driver dead.
The deceased has been identified as Shubham, 40, the police said.
