‘Thrash him, but why kill my son?’

Manju, mother of Karan Pandey, who was shot dead by the police near Gol Dakkhana, alleged that the police deliberately opened fire to kill her son.

“If he was performing stunts, the police should have trashed him with sticks, why did they have to open fire. The police don’t open fire on criminals but they shot my innocent son,” she alleged.
She also said that one of her tenant could be behind the incident, as they were having a tiff with her family. She said she was surprised when she did not find Karan in his room.
“On Saturday night, at around 11 pm, we both went to sleep in our respective rooms. On Sunday morning at around 5.45 am, I got a call from the police that my son has met with an accident. When I reached the RML Hospital, I was told that my son was shot dead because he was performing stunts on a bike with his friend,” said Manju.
Manju further said her son did not know how to ride a bike and had told her that he used to work for a private firm. Manju is reportedly living separately from her husband for a long time. Karan was her only son.
Meanwhile, Kusum Lata, the mother of injured Puneet Sharma, also criticised the Delhi Police for opening fire at her son. She said the police should have applied some other method to stop them.
She told this newspaper that her son left home for office at around 10.30 am on Saturday. “At around 10.30 pm, we called Puneet who told us that he was going with his friend and will be late as he had some urgent works. There was no news from him after that. On Sunday morning at around 6 am, we got a call form one of his friend who told us that he met with an accident and was hospitalised at RML Hospital,” said Kusum Lata.
She further said Puneet had quit drinking around six months ago and she was surprised when the cops told her that Punnet was totally drunk.
She claimed she did not know that Karan was his friend. “Karan visited our house only once, I did not know how they became friend,” she said.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
