Take good care of children: Hooda
In the wake of the tragic death of a 4-year-old girl after falling into a 70-feet deep borewell in Manesar, Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday said people should take proper care of their children and inform the district authorities about open pits.
It is the moral responsibility of the state government, as well as of the people, to ensure that deep pit like borewells should not be left open at any place, Mr Hooda said.
“The people should inform the district authorities if they come to know about any such pit,” the Haryana chief minister said while interacting with mediapersons here on Sunday.
People should also be very conscious about the safety of their children, said the chief minister.
In reply to a question about action against the guilty persons, Mr Hooda said the First Information Report has already been lodged against the person who got the borewell dug.
“The law will take its own course and the guilty will be punished,” Mr Hooda said.
In reply to another question, he said the state government was leaving no stone unturned to create conducive atmosphere for educational, sports and industrial development in Haryana.
Hoping to get the inquiry report at the earliest, Mr Hooda said those found guilty would not be spared.
As it is mandatory to seek permission of the deputy commissioner to dig a borewell in Gurgaon as per the direction of the high court, a separate case of contempt of court would also be initiated against Tayal, a spokesman of the district administration said.
The inquiry would be conducted by additional deputy commissioner of Gurgaon, Mr M. Pandurang.
