Spurned youth assaults girl
An aspiring fashion designer was allegedly abducted and assaulted in R.K. Puram of south Delhi by her male accomplice for breaking up with him recently.
The police said the accused, identified as Vikram Singh Rawat, a Delhi
university student and a resident of Sarojini Nagar, allegedly dragged the victim into his car, Hyundai Accent, on Thursday evening. The very first thing he did after forcing her into the car was to snatch her cellphone to prevent her from calling the cops. The accused, who was accompanied by his friend Manish Kumar, then assaulted the victim. They then threw the girl out of the vehicle. She approached the police about the incident and the accused and his aide were arrested.
The victim stays in R.K. Puram with her family and she is pursuing fashion designing course from an institute in Saket.
However, the victim was unhappy with some bad habits of Vikram. “She had stopped talking to Vikram, who used come to R.K. Puram to meet her. Her not talking to him had agitated Vikram. On the day of the assault, the girl was returning home after her classes when Vikram intercepted her near R.K. Puram and forcibly dragged her inside and assaulted her,” a police official said.
