SDMC clears layout plan
The South Delhi Municipal Corporation has completed its pilot project to prepare and approve layout plans of the unauthorised colonies on its own expenditure. The SDMC approved the layout plan for the fourth unauthorised colony under its jurisdiction on Tuesday. However, none of the resident welfare associations (RWA) has deposited the fee for the lay out plan.
SDMC standing committee chairman Rajesh Gehlot said, “As the Delhi government was blaming us for inaction, we have released `40 lakhs as fee to consultant government institute to prepare layout plan for four unauthorised colonies.”
The standing committee approved layout plan for Jain Colony Pocket-II and III in Uttam Nagar area. As per the record, the colony is spread on 18.79 acres of which 11.72 acre is under residential use which constitutes 833 plots and rest in other categories. The corporation had earlier approved the layout plans for Rajouri Garden, Shakti Vihar, and a colony in Badarpur area.
As per the decision by the government, the School of Planning and Architecture was assigned to prepare layout plans of South Delhi Municipal Corporation area.
“We will exempt the fee for layout plans if the BJP comes in power,” assured Mr Gehlot.
Similarly, the East Delhi Municipal Corporation and North Delhi Municipal Corporation have also sanctioned the fee for preparation of layout plans for five colonies each at the rate of `50,000 per acre for five unauthorised colonies in their respective areas.
