SDM to give approval for repair work
Delhi urban development minister Raj Kumar Chouhan on Thursday said in the House that property owners in unauthorised colonies can take permission from the area SDM for carrying out repair in their buildings.
The minister’s response came amid allegations that the police has been harassing owners in unauthorised colonies for carrying out repair work.
BSP MLA Ram Singh Netaji told the minister during Question Hour that people in unauthorised colonies have been facing harassment at the hands of the police.
“The government has set up a special task force under the chairmanship of the area SDM for unauthorised colonies. Owners need to submit an application to the SDM informing about the nature of repair work. The SDM will give approval after which the people will not face any harassment,” said Mr Chouhan.
