Rs 39 lakhs ATM cash robbed
Four armed assailants robbed `39 lakhs from the employees of a ATM cash replenishing firm when they were about to load the money in an ATM near Pal Chaupal in Mansarovar Park. The firms’ employees had come to load cash in the ATM of Union Bank of India around 10.45 am.
“The robbers thrashed them. When guard Sahab Singh tried to open fire, they snatched his rifle and beat him with its butt,” said the official.
The robbers fled with the cash box containing around `39 lakhs and also took away the guard’s rifle. The firm’s employee Akash informed the police. A team reached the spot and rushed the guard to hospital. The statements of Akash, Prem Singh and Jitender (driver) were recorded and FIR lodged. The ATM reportedly did not have a CCTV camera.
