REC results show profits, income hike

Rural Electrification Corporation, a Navratna PSU, has declared its quarterly financial results for the period ending December 31,2010. Total income of the company has increased to `2,178.04 crores and `6,188.93 crores against the corresponding quarter on December 31, 2009 of `1,706.18 crores and `4,838.03 crores, registering an increase of 27.66 per cent and 27.92 per cent, respectively. Profit before tax has increased to `901.45 crores and `2,530.68 crores as against the corresponding `644.52 crores and `1,896.29 crores earlier, thus registering an increase of 39.86 per cent and 33.45 per cent, respectively.
