Ramjas detects fake Class 12 marksheet
The saga of fake admissions in Ramjas College seems to be far from over. After the Delhi police busted a racket involved in making forged marksheets for enabling students get admission in the college, another dubious admission on the basis of a forged marksheet has surfaced in the college.
Top police sources disclosed that last week the college authorities detected that a first year student of B.Com., identified as Jitesh Gohri, had submitted forged marksheet to get admission in the college. Gohri, a resident of Kota, Rajasthan, was admitted to the college on May 30 last year on the basis of a forged Class 12 marksheet.
The college authorities checked his result on the CBSE website wherein it was found that Gohri hadn’t scored the marks mentioned in his marksheet. This prompted an internal inquiry which revealed that the accused had used fraudulent means by submitting a forged marksheet to gain admission in the college.
Following the detection of the fraud, Ramjas College principal, Dr Rajendra Prasad, filed a complaint with the north Delhi police’s Maurice Nagar police station on Thursday and a case under Sections 420, 468 and 471 of the IPC was registered against Gohri.
“The Ramjas College authorities were doing scrutiny of the admissions made in the last session after the illegal admissions racket came to light. Gohri too had secured admission using a forged certificate and has been charged accordingly. He has not been arrested so far,” deputy commissioner of police (north) Meenu Chaudhary said.
The Delhi police had arrested five persons including two B.Com. students of Ramjas College last year after it was found that they had used forged certificates while seeking admission to Ramjas in 2010-2011 session.
