Rain, cloud cover makes day pleasant
Delhiites woke up to a pleasant morning on Thursday as the city was enveloped by a thick cloud cover after overnight rains.
According to the met department, the capital received 8.6 mm of rainfall till Thursday morning. Some parts of the city received scattered rains at around 9 am.
Overcast conditions greeted the spectators of the Independence Day celebrations at Red Fort. Large number of people thronged the India Gate lawns as the weather remained pleasant throughout the day.
The temperature at Safdarjung weather station was recorded at 28.2 degrees Celsius at 11.30 am on Thursday. The minimum temperature in the city remained below normal. The mercury settled at 24.8° Celsius on Wednesday night, which was two notches below normal, and significantly down from the previous 26.1° Celsius.
The weatherman has forecast a cloudy sky on Friday with possibility of rains or thundershowers in some areas.
