Four persons were killed in two separate incidents due to heavy rains in the city on Monday evening, even as traffic snarls were reported from virtually all the areas. More than five centimetres of rain was recorded within a couple of hours.

According to the police, two persons riding a motorcycle got electrocuted when an electric wire fell upon them from a pole at Chandni Chowk in north Delhi. The incident was reported around 8 pm. Preliminary investigations indicated that the wires had snapped off during the heavy rain.
In another incident, two persons, including a woman, died when a 15-foot wall collapsed on them at Jhilmil Colony in east Delhi. The incident occurred near Arya Samaj Mandir in Krishna Market area of Jhilmil Colony, said a fire department official. The initial call to the fire department was that a wall had collapsed on a woman and two children.
Meanwhile, it was chaos in almost all the areas of the city as people got caught in rush hour traffic and heavy rains. Waterlogging too was reported from various roads, besides some trees getting uprooted in south, southwest and New Delhi areas due to high velocity winds. A traffic police official said that reports of traffic jams were received from ITO, Ashram, Apollo-Badarpur, Sunder Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Rajpur, Civil Lines, Seemapuri, Nanak Piao (Ring Road) and Dhaula Kuan (where the underpass again got submerged in water), Gujranwala Town (in the Model Town area), Delhi Gate, Kanhaiya Nagar Metro station and several other areas. There were no reports of jams in Lajpat Nagar as the market remains closed on Monday.
While traffic signals went on the blink in several areas, traffic police officials maintained that the personnel were monitoring the situation and efforts were being made to clear out the jam at the earliest.
The weatherman said that the city received 51.4 mm of rain till 8.30 pm on Monday evening.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
