Radhika’s kin not convinced
Even as the police seemed to heave a sigh of relief by claiming to have solved the sensational Radhika Tanwar murder case, the family of the victim appeared unconvinced about their claims.
When asked whether they were satisfied with the police investigations and their claims of having solved the case, Pratibha, a cousin of Radhika, said that the police simply wanted to shut the case. “They wanted to shut the case. We don’t know who this person is. We have not seen him earlier,” she said, while talking to mediapersons.
The family has been claiming that Radhika had not told them about any such incident and they did not have any enmity with any person. Radhika’s parents have been maintaining that she would have definitely told them had any such thing occurred.
The police had been saying all along that the accused had stalked her earlier too and was also beaten up by one of her tenants and neighbours. Following his arrest, the police has claimed that Ram Singh wanted to take revenge for the humiliation meted out to him when he stalked Radhika.
However, Delhi police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said that the police was doing its job well. He also said that the family cooperated with the police, otherwise it would have been difficult to solve the case.
Earlier, it was one of the neighbours, who reportedly took the police to a knitting unit where the accused used to work. After the neighbours had beaten him up and reported his activities to his employer, the accused had also lost his job and later went to Mumbai.
