Powercuts in E. delhi areas irk citizens

East Delhi residents faced hours-long outages in the hot and humid weather on Sunday. Officials of the Delhi Transco Limited claimed that a fault in a line between Ghazipur and Badarpur led to the crisis.
“The line which connects Badarpur and Ghazipur is in Noida which falls under the jurisdiction of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited. We have asked them to repair the line as soon as possible,” said a DTL officer.
“They are disconnecting the power supply very frequently since Saturday night. The complaint number of the discom is not reachable. It is either switched off or out of coverage area,” said Sunil Kumar, a resident of Pandav Nagar.
“Officials said that they have implemented load shedding due to power shortage. We have been facing outages for up to one hour or more after every 4-5 hours,” said Kailash Katiyar, president, RWA of Pocket 1, Mayur Vihar Phase I.

BJP collects material for flood relief
New Delhi, June 23: The Delhi BJP on Sunday said it is organising a relief camp to collect clothes and medicines for flood victims in Uttarakhand.
“We are collecting clothes, medicines and other essential items at our state party office to be dispatched to Uttarakhand in batches,” said Delhi BJP chief Vijay Goel.
The party has already sent two trucks of relief material to Uttarakhand, Mr Goel said.
“We also appeal to Delhi government to arrange for buses and aircraft like other states to bring back Delhiites stranded at relief camps,” said Mr Goel.
“It should be the government’s responsibility to initiate such actions,” he added.
Meanwhile, BJP youth wing workers and volunteers donated blood to mark the 60th death anniversary of party founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha president and MP Anurag Thakur said the blood collected at the camp would be used to help the victims of the natural disaster in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
The BJYM also launched an awareness campaign for its membership drive beginning July 6. — PTI

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
