Police picks up suspects for inquiry
The Delhi south district police has picked up three suspects in connection with the murder of engineering student Shobhit Modi, who was stabbed to death in Vasant Kunj on May 7.
Police sources said the suspects (names withheld) were picked up by a team of Delhi police on Thursday as their location was found “suspicious” when Shobhit, a student of Manav Rachna University in Faridabad, was found stabbed near his Vasant Kunj residence on May 7 by a security guard.
The sources said that the suspects are residents of Vasant Kunj and adjoining areas and are being questioned. “We are questioning all the people believed to be connected to the case. No arrests have been made so far,” said DCP (south) Chhaya Sharma.
Police sources said the investigations are narrowing down with each passing day and a close group of “friends” not known to his family are being investigated.
The police is likely to announce a cash reward for information on the suspects.
