Police gets custody, to grill killer
The main accused in the Radhika Tanwar-murder case, Vijay, alias Ram Singh, 25, who was apprehended from the suburbs of Mumbai and brought to Delhi on Saturday was produced in a Delhi court. Singh has been taken into four-days police custody by the orders of the court. Singh was arrested in Friday later hours, four-days after he allegedly shot dead Radhika.
The accused was presented before metropolitan magistrate Arul Verma, who allowed the Delhi police his custody for four more days to interrogate him and unravel the cold-blooded murder. Singh’s identity was made public on Friday and he was arrested from Tagore Nagar in Vikhroli, northeast Mumbai, at 11 pm on Friday. Police officers earlier said that 19 special teams were formed to track down the accused.
A tailor who first came to Delhi in 2005, Singh shot dead Radhika, a B.A. second year student of Ramlal Anand College in south Delhi, on a foot overbridge on March 8 when she was walking to her college.
