Police arrests CA for cheating in Pitampura
A 49-year-old chartered accountant, who allegedly cheated a number of people by promising loans from foreign banks and business opportunities for the past 15 years, was arrested here, the police said on Sunday.
Brij Bhushan Aggrawal, a resident of Pitampura, was arrested following investigations into a complaint from a man who claimed that he took Rs 12.5 lakhs from him on the pretext of providing him a contract to run a canteen at Reliance Energy Ltd in Agra. He was arrested in Pitampura on July 28.
“He used to dupe people by promising them loans from foreign banks. He promised them business opportunities as well. He has swindled a huge sum of money in the last 15 years,” Mr Thakur said. He was earlier declared a proclaimed offender in a similar case. In this case, he had taken Rs 2.5 lakhs from a man promising him a loan of Rs 25 crores from a foreign bank, the police said.

4 students held in case of dacoity
Ghaziabad, Aug. 1: Four students, one of them pursuing MBA, have been arrested in connection with a dacoity in the house of a local oil trader, police said today.
The four, also including an engineering student, were allegedly involved in the dacoity in the house of Suresh Kumar Sharma, 50, in posh Sona Enclave three weeks ago. Cash and valuables estimated to be around Rs 3 lakhs were looted from the family. According to SP (rural) M.M. Beg, the youth were arrested with the help of a mobile phone that they had snatched away from Mr Sharma’s wife.
Deepak (21), Rahul (24) Vinay (22) and Satender (20) are all locals hailing from upper middle class families. Two of them are pursuing graduation, he said. —PTI
