Patiala house courts to be shifted to DDU marg
Delhi’s Patiala House courts will be shifted to DDU Marg. The Delhi Cabinet on Monday gave its nod for the construction of New Delhi district courts complex at Rose Avenue with an estimated cost of `306 crores.
“We had to shift the court to a better place as the existing area near India Gate is very congested. We have also granted the amount for the construction of a court complex. The complex will be ready by next year,” Ms Dikshit told reporters here after the Cabinet meeting.
The court complex, with a built up area of 7.5 lakh sq ft, will be centrally air-conditioned. The building would be constructed strictly following green norms, and would have 41 court rooms on eight floors with ample space for parking.
“There would be a separate movement paths for judges, lawyers, litigants and convicts apart from an auditorium with a capacity of 200 persons. It will have solar panel for external lighting, covered roof with solar panels and proper traffic management. The government has taken care of security aspect and has decided to install an automatic security system in the building,” said a senior Delhi government official.
The Cabinet also approved to enhance the amount for purchasing desktops and laptops for 427 judicial officials and 270 IAS and Danics officials.
