Pak national, 75, drugged, robbed
A 75-year-old Pakistani national was allegedly drugged and robbed in the national capital. The incident was reported when the victim, identified as Mohammad Nabi, gained consciousness at a city hospital on Sunday. He then narrated that he was drugged, robbed and dumped by an autorickshaw driver on July 1 when he was going to meet his relatives in Moradabad, U.P.
“The victim said that he landed at the IGI airport on July 1. He had come to meet his relatives in Moradabad. His grandson had reached the airport to receive him but Nabi could not spot him and decided go to Moradabad alone. He asked people about the route to Moradabad and reached Kashmere Gate where an auto driver said he will drop him at Anand Vihar ISBT from where he can get a bus to Moradabad. The driver offered him a cold drink near Ghazipur after which Nabi lost consciousness,” said a senior police official quoting the complaint of the victim.
On July 2 morning, some passersby spotted Nabi lying unconscious on the road and informed the police.
Nabi regained consciousness five days after the incident and narrated the entire incident. An FIR was lodged subsequently under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code at the Anand Vihar police station.
“We are questioning some persons to identify the accused. We have also sought some CCTV footage to solve the case,” the official added.
Nabi claimed that around `40,000 in Indian currency, 30,000 rupees in Pakistani currency, some expensive watches and his passport are missing.
