Nurse hangs self at Sir Ganga Ram

A 24-year-old nurse working with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her hostel room in the hospital premises at Rajender Nagar.
A senior police official said the incident took place at around 2.30 pm on Monday.
The deceased nurse has been identified as Vinita Sebastian, a native of Kotyam district in Kerala. She had been working as nurse for over a year after completing a three-year course from the same hospital.
“On Monday, her colleagues got worried when she did not join her duty. Her cellphone was also found switched off. One of her colleagues went to see her at her hostel room and found her hanging. The hospital security personnel were called who informed the police,” said the official.
The police did not find any suicide note from the hostel room of the deceased.
“We don’t know the reason behind her taking the extreme step. Her family has been informed. Her colleagues said that she was in depression but they do not know the reason,” the official said.
