Newborn girl’s body found in train toilet

A new-born girl child’s body was found in toilet inside a train at Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station on Tuesday evening.
The police said the body was recovered from a toilet on Utkal Express after it chugged into the station at 7 pm. A passenger noticed the body and alerted rail officials

following which the police was informed. The baby is hardly a-day-old,” said additional deputy commissioner of police (railways) Bhairon Singh Gurjar.
“We rushed her to AIIMS Trauma Centre but the doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. Doctors ascertained her age as ‘zero days’ which means that she was born hours before she was abandoned,” said a senior police officer. There were no apparent injury marks on the newborn’s body.
