New barricades to check rowdy protesters: cops

The police is planning to purchase new barricades specially designed to stop protesters who go on rampage. The new barricade is almost double in height and has a barbed wire on top. The police has decided to purchase around a hundred such barricades.
“We have decided to purchase these specially-designed barricades after our personnel were manhandled during protests in New Delhi area. The protesters used to overturn barricades or crossed them to reach up to the police. They will face difficulty in crossing these double in height and with barbed wire on top. It can’t be overturned,” said the police official.
“We plan to put up these barricade outside 7 Janpath, the Prime Minister Office and 10 Janpath, Mrs Sonia Gandhi’s residence,” said the police official.

4th dilli haat to come up in mayur vihar

The fourth Dilli Haat in the city would be constructed in Mayur Vihar Phase I at an estimate cost of `170 crores and will be completed in next two years, CM Sheila Dikshit said on Thursday.
“East Delhi Dilli Haat will be constructed on the drain adjacent to Sahkarita Marg and it will cover a huge area from Mayur Vihar Phase I Metro Station to Mayur Vihar Extension Metro Station. The total built up area will be six acres,” Ms Dikshit said.
