Network snags, long powercuts continue
Several areas in the city continue to reel under long outages due to glitches in the power distribution network.
Powercuts ranging from two to five hours were reported from various localities in South, East and West Delhi on Tuesday. A power department official said the outages took place mainly because of local faults in the distribution network.
Delhi power minister Haroon Yusuf held a meeting with BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) in which he directed the discom to strengthen distribution network in West Delhi.
BRPL officials said it was decided to expedite commissioning of the Hastasal and Matiala grids.

Boy run over by auto in freak mishap
Ghaziabad, June 11: A 10-year-old boy was killed in Ghaziabad in a mishap involving an autorickshaw, the police said on Tuesday, reports PTI.
Some children were pushing their neighbour’s auto, which had stalled in the Sihani Gate police station area on Monday.
The vehicle being pushed up on an incline suddenly rolled backwards and ran over 10-year-old Vinay, said Sihani Gate SHO, Pramod Gautam. — PTI
