Nepalese woman raped, 2 arrested

A 19-year-old Nepalese woman was allegedly raped in Malviya Nagar area of South Delhi.
A senior police official said the incident occurred at a construction site on Sunday night.
“The victim was sleeping at the construction site when she was assaulted by two labourers. One accused raped the victim while the other assisted him. She shouted for help hearing which her husband rushed to her rescue. Meanwhile, both the accused fled from the spot,” said the police official.
The police said the accused also tried to strangle the victim. She was taken to a nearby hospital where rape was confirmed in her medical examination report.
The police registered an FIR under Sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 376 (rape) of the IPC.
“We have arrested two persons in this respect. They were identified as Shiv Pal and Suresh,” said the police official.
Meanwhile, in another incident a minor girl was allegedly raped by her uncle. The police said the victim, who lives in Hauz Rani area, alleged that around 10 days ago her uncle raped her when she was alone in her house.
“She narrated the incident to her family members on Sunday after which they approached the police. We have lodged an FIR in this respect and are looking into the matter,” said the police source.

Criminal held after escape from custody

NEW DELHI, JULY 8

The police arrested a criminal, who had escaped while being produced in a court, and his aide, both carrying rewards of `50,000, and seized a countrymade pistol, a 9mm pistol and three live cartridges from them. The accused have been identified as Neeraj Pal, alias Dheeraj, alias Rahul, and Pradeep, alias Chairman.
Neeraj was being produced before Rohini Court on March 3. On the pretext of talking to his wife who had come to meet him he jumped on an adjoining floor and ran away and started threatening eyewitness not to depose against him and his gang.
Neeraj organised his gang after his escape and committed contract killings in UP.
