Nadar’s wife files 2nd FIR

The wife of industrialist and HCL chief Shiv Nadar, Ms Kiran Nadar, has approached the Delhi police with a fresh complaint that a Jaipur based jeweller had cheated her by selling fake jewellery worth over `14 crores. Ms Kiran filed a fresh FIR at New Friends Colony police station on Tuesday against the accused who is reportedly out on bail.

Police sources revealed that the victim approached the New Friends Colony police station with a fresh complaint on Tuesday against one Govind Johari, who is the proprietor of Ms King of Jewels based in Jaipur, stating that she was cheated by Johari who sold her jewellery made of precious stones which on examination turned out to be fake.
Ms Nadar told the police that she had purchased six other necklaces from accused over the last three years, including one ruby and diamond-studded necklace worth `1.7 crores, one ruby and diamond pearls necklace worth `2.21 crores, one emerald-studded diamond hand with pearls worth `1.62 crores, one emerald-studded diamond hand with pearls worth `68.21 lakhs, one necklace with emerald beads, diamond beads and pearls set with pearl pendant worth `2.16 crores and one necklace with pair of earring, ring studded with ruby and diamond worth `6.44 crores. The payment of these purchases were made to Johari through cheques of CitiBank and Standard Chartered.
The victim told the police that the accused deceived her by giving low-quality gems and jewels. She came to know about the fraud after she got the jewellery sets examined at Indian Gemological Institute at Jhandewalan in central Delhi where she was told that they were of low quality.
The police has registered a second case against the accused who is out on bail and a manhunt has been launched to arrest him.
