Mumbai woman is found dead in Noida, had eloped
A woman from Mumbai, who had eloped with a man a month ago and had been living in Noida since then, was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Saturday.
The man Mandip has been working at a factory in Noida since then, the police said.
On Saturday, when he was to go to factory, the woman Madin asked for some sour foodstuff to eat as she felt like having it. He told her that he was going to factory and asked her to buy “imli” (tamarind) from a shop, they added.
In the evening, when he came back, Madin was found unconscious. He took her to hospital where she was declared brought dead, the police said.
Mandip and Madin were working in a company at Mumbai where they fell in love and she eloped with him and started living at a rented room in Sector 8, said the police.
The police sent the woman’s body for postmortem. Mandip is being questioned and the police is looking at the murder angle too.
Meanwhile, a 19-year-old youth was arrested Saturday for murdering a minor boy whom he kidnapped for `5,000 ransom, the police said.
Vinod Kumar, a labourer, was arrested from a park in Badli area in north Delhi for the murder of Rounak, 5, his neighbour.
According to the police, Rounak was kidnapped June 14 from his home in Raja Vihar near Badli. His father Rajbir Singh lodged a complaint when the boy failed to return home from the playground.
“On June 16, Rounak’s sister Rukmani told us that she received four calls demanding `5,000 as ransom. We traced the call and found that the number was registered in name of Ramji,” a police official said.
