Metro plans extra-long FOBs, ramps
Delhi Metro will construct extra-long foot over bridges (FOB) and ramps in six of the seven interchange stations on the Mukundpur–Shiv Vihar line. “Due to inadequate availability of land near existing stations and the direction of alignment, it was difficult to connect the new stations with the operational ones.
These FOBs and ramps will connect the new and old stations,” a DMRC spokesperson said.
The interchange stations on the longest 56-km corridor will be Azadpur, Netaji Subhash Place, Rajouri Garden, Mayur Vihar I, Karkarduma, Anand Vihar and Welcome.
“At Anand Vihar, the new station will be adjacent to the operational one while FOBs and ramps will be constructed in others,” the spokesperson said.
The length of the FOBs and ramps will range from approximately 70 metres to 200 metres.
Lifts and escalators will also be provided wherever required and the connectivity will be from concourse to concourse.
