Mercury may touch 40ºC today: Met
The city is getting hotter with each passing day and the temperature may touch 40 degrees Celsius on Monday as the weathermen predict a few dry days ahead.
The Met department officials have forecast that the maximum temperature will be around 40º Celsius on Monday and the minimum at 23º Celsius.
The maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 38.7º Celsius, two degrees above normal while the minimum settled at 21.8º Celsius, which is one degree below normal.
The temperature in the past week has been hovering around 36 to 38º Celsius.
The coming days could be hotter as the Met department has predicted some dry days over the plains of northwest India.
The humidity was recorded between 65 and 21 per cent.

Youth from city drowns in Ganga
Dehra Dun, April 24: Two youths, including one from Delhi, drowned in the river Ganga in separate incidents in Tehri district of Uttarakhand, the police said on Sunday.
Sandip Saxena, 26, a resident of Dwarka in New Delhi, was taking bath in the river at Gold Coast near Beasi area on Sunday when he was swept off by strong currents.
Saxena and his friends were camping in the area for the past few days and had planned to return on Sunday, the police said.
In another incident, 29-year-old Avinesh Nandan Sharma from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh drowned in the river at Dhaneshwar area around Saturday midnight when he was taking a dip. —PTI
