Man set ablaze in Madangir, dies
Unidentified assailants killed a 30-year-old man by setting him on fire in Madangir area of Ambedkar Nagar in southeast Delhi.
A senior police official said the deceased was attacked after he failed to repay his debt.
The deceased, identified as Satish, lived with his family in Ambedkar Nagar and worked in a private finance company.
“We got a call of the incident last night that a man was attacked and burnt alive by unknown persons. Satish was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed on Friday,” said the official.
The police has lodged an FIR under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. Initially a case of attempt to murder was lodged but Section 302 was added after the death of the deceased.
The family members of the deceased alleged that a man named Sunil, alias Kala, is behind the incident. A senior police official said that investigations into the case are underway.

A woman and her two children were attacked by an armed assailant in Mangolpuri, Outer Delhi, on Friday.
A senior police official said the accused Sonu was nabbed by neighbours. The victim Laxmi, 50, lives with her children Gudia, 16, and Anand, 20. They have been admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital where their condition is stated to be critical.
“Sonu barged into their house and started hurling abuses at them. He then attacked Gudia and Laxmi with a knife. When Anand intervened, he too was attacked. A mob gathered at the spot and nabbed Sonu,” said the official.
Sonu was arrested and an FIR of attempt to murder lodged against him, the police official said.
