Man’s head smashed while leaning out of car window
In a freak incident, a man was killed when he was hit by a tree or a vehicle while peeping out of the car window in Mandir Marg area. A senior police official said the man was found dead in an abandoned car. The deceased was later on identified as Ashu, 25.
“A passerby spotted the car on Panchkuian Road and made a call to the PCR at around 5.50 am. A police team rushed to the spot and found the body on the car’s rear seat,” said the official.
Meanwhile, speaking to this newspaper, deputy commissioner of police (New Delhi) S.B.S. Tyagi said they initially thought that it was a murder case and lodged an FIR under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC.
“During investigation, we got to know in that it was an accident case. The car belongs to Salam Balak Trust and three more persons, identified as Shiv Shankar, Firoz and Brijesh Pandey were travelling in the car,” the official said.
“Ashu who was sitting on the backseat was peeping out of the car. He got hit by some heavy thing and his head was smashed. He died on the spot,” the official added.
“We will arrest Shankar, the driver, who is absconding,” said the official.
