Man poses as rail minister, nabbed
The crime branch of Delhi police has arrested a man who allegedly called the inspector general of Railway Protection Force posing as railway minister Dinesh Trivedi. The accused has been identified as Raja Babu Ojha.
“The accused wanted to get an inspector of RPF transferred in other department. He called up the inspector general while posing as railway minister to take him under his influence,” said a police officer.
The accused was arrested 20 days after the incident. The crime branch had received a complaint from IG, RPF, on July 10 following which an FIR was registered.
“Fearing action against himself, he threw the SIM card in a canal and filed an FIR of phone theft with Kolkata police on July 12. But he came under technical surveillance as he started using the same cellphone after getting the old number again. He told the crime branch officials that his cellphone was stolen and he did not make any call. But when asked how he got his old cellphone he did not have any answer. He broke down during questioning and confessed to his crime,” said the police official.
