Man murders cop for arresting him
A Delhi police constable was killed on Wednesday night by two men at Ranhola in Bagrola area of Southwest Delhi. One of the accused has been arrested and search for the second one is on.
Constable Tanvir Singh, 28, was deployed in Ranholla. In August, he had sent one Ravinder to jail in a property dispute. Ravinder nursed the grudge and killed him when he came out of the jail. Ravinder was later arrested.
West Delhi DCP V. Renganathan said that the incident happened at 11 pm. The police got a call that an unidentified person killed Tanvir at his residence. Tanvir lived alone in a room in Nangli Vihar on the plot of Dharamvir Chaudhary.
Tanvir returned home after duty at 10.30 pm. During inspection of the scene of crime, it was found that five empty cartridges were lying in the room. He is survived by his wife and two kids. A case was registered and ten police teams were formed and despatched to various locations to gather intelligence about the people involved in the crime.
During primary investigation, it was revealed that Pradeep Sharma and Ravinder were not letting Shyam Bir Singh to construct a boundary wall on his plot as the duo claimed that the plot was theirs. When the matter was reported to the police, Tanvir reached the spot and arrested Ravinder for breach of peace and Pradeep fled from the spot. However, they planned to retaliate. On Wednesday night, when Tanvir was alone, they executed their plan and shot him death. Early in the morning at 5.45 am, accused Pradeep was apprehended near Ganda Nala Jai Vihar, Najafgarh, by the police team with the weapon of offence. During interrogation, he confessed his involvement.
