Man kills wife, 35, with gas cylinder

A man allegedly killed his 35-year-old wife by hitting her with a gas cylinder in Ghazipur area of East Delhi.
A senior police official said the incident took place on Sunday night and that an FIR was registered on Monday on the basis of the statement given by the deceased woman’s son.
The official said that the deceased, Kanti Devi, alias Pushpa, was found lying dead in a pool of blood under her bed on Monday morning by her son who called the police.
“The accused Sanjay Kumar is absconding. We have registered an FIR of murder against him and are conducting raids to nab him,” said the official.
The the deceased had a marital tiff with her husband and had been living separately with her two sons for the last three years.
She used to work as a security guard at EDM Shopping Mall and was the breadwinner of her family.
“Sanjay was living with their third son in Bihar. Pushpa met her husband at a wedding in Bihar. They decided to resolve their dispute and started living together. However, Sanjay again started picking up arguments. He broke her cellphone and damaged the SIM card. On Sunday, the two sons went to sleep on the top floor. When the son came down in the morning he found his mother dead,” said the police official.
The son accused his father for killing his mother, the police official said.
Meanwhile, a 17-year-old allegedly hanged himself from the ceiling fan at his house at Alipur in Outer Delhi.
A police official said that the deceased youth was identified as Neeraj.
The family members of the deceased alleged that he committed suicide after being threatened by his friend as he had caused some damage to his scooty, the police official said.
“After the accident, Neeraj’s friend allegedly asked him to pay for the damage, failing which he would tell his parents about the incident,” a police official said.
It seems that the boy committed suicide as he was not in a position to pay for the damage and was scared about the consequences. No suicide note has been recovered, the police official said.
A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against his friend.
