Man kills daughter for having affair

The police arrested a man who allegedly killed his 16-year-old daughter for reportedly having a boyfriend and threw her body in a drain in Mehrauli area.
A police official said that the accused, Liyaqat Ali, was arrested from Mehrauli. The deceased was in love with a boy and wanted to marry him but the accused was against their relationship.
“The accused brought his daughter to Delhi around a month ago after he got know about her relationship. He asked her to end the relationship but she refused. He strangled her to death while she was sleeping,” said the official.
The accused packed the body in a sack, dumped it in a drain, and then lodged a missing report at the Mehrauli police station. Meanwhile, the police found the body and started investigation.
“We found that she wanted to marry a man and her father was against it. Her father gave contradictory statements. He broke down and confessed his involvement in the crime,” said the police official.
Meanwhile, a 55-year-old businessman was found stabbed to death in his house at Guru Tegh Bahadur Enclave, east Delhi. The police suspects the role of an insider in the incident and the motive seems to be personal enmity as nothing was found robbed.
The deceased has been identified as Haji Jamir Ali, a police official said.
“He went to sleep on the first floor after having dinner at around 1 am while his wife and children slept on the ground floor. The family members heard some noise on the first floor and found that their door was locked from outside. They then called their relative Aslam who opened the door. Jamil’s son went to the first floor and found his father lying in a pool of blood. They rushed him to nearby government hospital where he was declared brought dead,” said the police official.
