Man found hanging in E. Delhi
A young man committed suicide by hanging himself at his east Delhi Krishna Nagar residence on Sunday evening. The deceased,Vikas Gupta, 22, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his room by his father Naresh Gupta, a government employee, on Monday morning when he went to wake him up, the police said. Mr Gupta told the police that his son didn’t open the door despite repeated knocks following which he informed his neighbours.
The neighbours peeped through window and saw Vikas hanging. The door was broken and a PCR call made. The police rushed Vikas to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. The deceased was working at Defence Research Development Organisation
The police found a suicide note in which the deceased said that no one should be held responsible for his death.

‘DERC did not issue tariff order’

Feb. 28: The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission on Monday told the Delhi high court that no tariff order for financial year 2010-11 was issued. Appearing before a division bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Mishra and Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Additional Solicitor-General Parag Tripathi said that until the order is signed by the members and is communicated to government within seven days, it cannot be called as approved, and hence no order was issued before the May 2010 deadline.
The court directed the Delhi government’s standing counsel Najmi Waziri to submit the relevant file by the next date of hearing.
