Man arrested for bid to sodmise minor
Three incidents of sexual harassment against minors were reported on Wednesday.
A 25-year-old man was arrested from the Firoz Shah Road bungalow of Takam Sanjoy, a Congress MP from Arunachal Pradesh, for allegedly trying to have unnatural sex with a six-year-old boy.
A police official confirmed the incident and said they have arrested the accused Ram Pravash. An FIR in this respect was lodged at the Bara Khamba Road police station .
“The victim lives in servant quarters of a Congress MP. He was alone when the accused tried to have unnatural sex with him. Hearing the commotion his family members gathered and caught the accused,” said the police official.
The second incident was reported from Aman Vihar area of Outer Delhi where a 20-year-old man allegedly sexually assaulted a four-year-old girl on Wednesday morning. A police official said the victim was playing outside her house in Kirari village when the accused tried to rape her. Neighbours gathered on hearing the girl’s shouts and called the police.
“The accused managed to flee from th crime scene. The victim was taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital for medical examination. An FIR has been registered,” said the police official.
The third incident was reported from Naraina where a 12-year-old girl alleged that she was molested by a 40-year-old man.
The police is probing the matter.

Tourism ministry to promote Indian Himalayas

Union minister of state for tourism (independent charge) K. Chiranjeevi on Wednesday announced that the ministry would launch a new campaign to publicise the tourism potential of the Indian Himalayas and promote this incredible tourist product internationally.
To be called “777 days of the Indian Himalayas” the campaign will have a two-fold objective, one, to attract more international tourists to India during the lean summer season, and second, to remind the world that 73 per cent of the Himalayan region is in India.
Mr Chiranjeevi said that the ministry plans to launch the campaign on September 27, the World Tourism Day.
