Man, 70, found dead, cops rule out foul play
The body of a 70-year-old man was found in Madhu Vihar but the police ruled out any foul play in the matter.
Police officials said the deceased, identified as Roshan Lal, 70, was spotted lying unconscious near a red light in Madhu Vihar following which a call was made to the police control room on Friday evening. A team of cops arrived and rushed the victim to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
“There are no external injury marks on the body. We recovered `3,000, a mobile phone, two boxes of sweets and other valuables from his possession. The body has been sent for post-mortem and the report is awaited. As of now, no conclusions can be drawn but no foul play is suspected,” a senior police official said.
In another incident, some local boys playing cricket near a playground in Kalyanpuri spotted an electrician’s body floating in a sewer on Saturday morning.
The incident was reported at 8.30 am when some children were playing cricket in Block 11, Kalyanpuri, saw a body floating in a sewer behind the Gurdwara.
The police was informed and the deceased was identified as Dharmpal, 45, a resident of Kalyanpuri, who worked as an electrician.
“There were no injury marks on the body. We have sent it for post-mortem,” a senior police official said. The deceased is survived by his wife and five children.
