Malik: Need to exorcise Munde of NCP ghost
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) took senior Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Gopinath Munde to task for alleging that NCP chief Sharad Pawar is conspiring to put him in trouble. He said that Mr Munde is suffering from some superstition about the NCP, and demanded that the Anti-Superstition Bill be implemented as soon as possible for the betterment of the BJP leader.
After making a confession of spending `8 crore during his last Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission of India sent a notice to Mr Munde. Later, he received another notice from the Income-Tax department, asking him to furnish details about the money that he claimed to have spent in elections. Since then, Mr Munde is alleging that Mr Pawar is trying to put him in trouble by various means. He alleged that Mr Pawar addressed three confidential meetings after which the I-T department slapped a notice against him.
Replying to the allegations made by Mr Munde, party spokesperson Nawab Malik on Thursday said, “We need to exorcise Mr Munde of the NCP ghost which seems to be troubling him for a long time. This is nothing but superstition and we demand immediate implementation of the pending Anti-Superstition Bill so that his superstition comes to an end.”
