‘Jilted’ man held for attack on girl

The police on Wednesday said it has arrested a man for allegedly attacking a girl with a chopper after she spurned his advances and scolded him for stalking her.

A senior police official said, “The accused Wasim used to stalk Reshma (name changed). He attacked her when she scolded him for stalking her.” The girl was attacked in Ghazipur area on June 6. The accused was hiding in Meerut.
