Japan national abducted, 2 held

Two men were arrested on Sunday for allegedly kidnapping a Japan national here. The victim was rescued from near IGI airport.

The Japan national came to know the accused Pankaj Sharma and Rishi Raj Singh when he went to Jaipur few weeks ago. “They introduced themselves as businessmen. On Sunday, they called the victim to discuss a business deal at Shastri Nagar,” a police official said.
When the victim reached there, the accused threatened him and took him along while they used his debit card for shopping. However, somewhow the victim managed to call his friends at the Japan embassy who informed the police. The police called on the victim’s phone and tracked his location in the city. An FIR has been lodged under Sections 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person), 368 (wrongfully concealing or keeping in confinement, kidnapped or abducted person) and 384 (extortion) of the IPC against the accused.
“The case involves a foreigner hence I cannot disclose information,” said ACP S.B.S. Tyagi.
