Insurance firm employees robbed of `49 lakhs
Two employees of an insurance firm were robbed of `49 lakhs by car-borne assailants in Paschim Vihar.
Additional commissioner of police (west) V. Renganathan said the victims work in PACL insurance company. “Raghu, an employee, said that he and his co-worker Mukesh were on their way to deposit cash in Corporation Bank on a motorcycle. They had to stop as their bike developed a snag. Mukesh was trying to rectify the problem. They also called a mechanic. Meanwhile, a car stopped near them, a boy picked up the bag containing the cash and fled,” said the official.
They could note only half the number on the car’s plate. The ACP said that the two employees were under the scanner.
“We have found contradiction in their statements. We will also record the statement of the mechanic to know what exactly happened. We will examine the CCTV footage of the area,” he said.
