Heavy rain turns weather pleasant
Heavy rains lashed the national capital on Saturday bringing pleasant respite to Delhiites from hot and humid conditions and also bringing along the harrowing perennial problem of waterlogging that accompany a downpour in several areas. However, the weather turned pleasant by the evening.
The humidity levels hovered between 62 and 92 per cent.
The city received a total of 14.8 mm of rainfall, which drenched most parts of the city, between 8.30 am to 5.30 pm.
It was a bright sunny morning on Saturday, but by afternoon most parts of the city were drenched in heavy rains, bringing respite from the sultry weather.
The city also witnessed waterlogging at many low-lying places. However, the problem of traffic disruption was not felt that much as most government offices are closed on Saturday and the traffic was not very heavy.
The maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 35.5 degrees Celsius, which was a notch above the normal, while the minimum was recorded at 26.2° Celsius, a degree below normal.
The met department has predicted a cloudy sky on Sunday with the possibility of rains and thundershowers.
