Gz’bad: Case against SP leader for attack
A criminal case was registered Saturday against a Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and two others for attacking officials at the regional employment office in Ghaziabad, the police said.
“We have registered a criminal case against the SP leader and former bar association president Nahar Singh Yadav, Ramesh Yadav and Pushpendra under sections 147, 353, 323, 332, 504 and 506 (assault, causing to hurt public servant and criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code,” said Circle Officer-II Praveen Ranjan Singh.
According to the police, the Samajwadi Party leader and two other men had allegedly barged into the employment exchange office and had attacked and obstructed government employees from work, the police said. The office is seeing a heavy rush due to the promise of unemployment allowance.
SP leader and former bar association president Nahar Singh Yadav alleged that he had come to the office to inquire into the allegations of bribery at the office.
Meanwhile, a shopkeeper here has been booked for allegedly cheating a police constable of `5 lakhs here.
According to the Ghaziabad police, the accused Pradeep allegedly took the money from constable Subash Chand last year on the pretext of providing a job to his son, police said.
