Govt to set up makeshift hospitals
The Delhi government now plans to set up “semi-permanent hospitals” which can be set up within a few days at any location. The proposal has been given approval after taking a cue from countries like Japan which are prone to natural calamities. The Delhi government is considering a quick-fix solution to cater to growing demand for medical facilities through “semi-permanent” hospitals.
Talking to the media, a Delhi government official on Monday stated: “These (semi-permanent) hospitals are a common phenomenon in countries which are affected by natural disasters and can be of immense use in any other emergency situation.” The officials added that these hospitals are easily built as they do not need a foundation.
