Govt relief of `4 lakhs for victims
The Delhi government has announced an ex-gratia of `4 lakhs to the three schoolchildren who were sexually abused by their cab driver after being drugged in central Delhi.
Delhi’s health minister Kiran Walia assured the mother of the 12-year-old girl and her two minor brothers of all possible help and announced monetary help for them to meet the expenditure on their health and medicine.
Ms Walia has demanded that it should be made mandatory for all the private and government schools principals to get the character and antecedents of the drivers, helpers verified to prevent such heinous incidents. The case has been handed over to the crime branch of the Delhi police.
