Goods worth `35 lakhs robbed

Robbers drugged a family in New Usmanpur area of northeast Delhi and took away cash and jewellery worth `20 lakhs.

According to the police, Gopiram lives with his family in Gokulpuri area in northeast Delhi. He had two sons of whom one had died in an accident. His wife Lajwanti had gone to Haridwar to perform his rites. On Sunday, around 12 am, the robbers sprayed some chemical on the members of the family who were asleep and took away jewellery and cash.
When they woke up in the morning they felt heaviness in their head and could barely walk. The door had been locked from outside.
They found that gold, silver and cash worth `20 lakhs had been stolen. .
Meanwhile, in another incident, robbers took away gold and cash worth `15 lakhs from the house of Anjali Malhotra Nanda, marketing division head of a television channel at Kalyanpuri while she was away on a trip to America and her family was asleep.
